Joe Arnold Joe Arnold

Joe Arnold

Managing Director

Joe is the guiding force behind Arnold & Baldwin and has overall responsibility for all commercial and residential surveys and valuations. Passionate about delivering the highest quality products at the fairest prices possible, he has been consistently searching for new and innovative client-focused services since founding the company with Jobie in 2007.

A graduate of the University of the West of England, he began his career with a multi-disciplinary surveying practice based in Croydon where he went on to expand the firm’s portfolio to include a successful Acquisition Division and a Residential Development Consultancy, before heading to the West End and joining Cushman & Wakefield. Here, Joe provided consultancy advice on urban regeneration schemes across the country and negotiated the acquisition of key strategic buildings equipping him with the remarkable expertise that keeps Arnold & Baldwin thriving and expanding.

Joe has been undertaking both residential and commercial valuations in London and the South East since 2002 and is our resident Independent Expert who undertakes CPR compliant Expert Witness Reports on matrimonial cases, negligence claims, and probate/taxation issues. He is appointed on the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Residential Survey and Valuation Professional Group, helping shape the profession.

A very proud father to 2 daughters, Joe lives in Banstead with his wife enjoying the ever-changing challenges of family life. Living and breathing property, Joe’s hobbies include finding run-down buildings and creating a wonderful environment for people to live in.

Jobie Baldwin

Consultant Surveyor / Partner

With a long and enviable career to date, Jobie brings her vast experience and perfectionist nature to the company. Initially gaining a first class honours degree from the University of Westminster, she went on to become a member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Starting out at BAA plc, she worked for many years at head office heading up the Property Management team at both Stansted and Gatwick airports before becoming an estate agent for a time. Later, Jobie worked for a local firm of surveyors and here she was head-hunted to Cushman and Wakefield in the West End having discovered her true passion for surveying. She founded Arnold & Baldwin with Joe in 2007 and is still very much involved in the valuations in and around her home town of Oxted.

Living with her husband and rescue dogs, Jobie enjoys horse riding, rock music and motorcycling. Her passion for tennis has previously resulted in a few magical hours at Wimbledon’s Centre Court with Joe.

John Anderson John Anderson Profile picture

John Anderson


Having graduated in Economics and Social History from the University of Kent, John qualified as a surveyor in 1985 at Hillier Parker. This was the start of a long and esteemed career within the property industry as he went on to work for (among others) Vigers, Chestertons and Hargreaves Newberry Gyngell, gaining considerable experience in commercial and residential valuations as well as investment consultancy. Before joining Arnold & Baldwin in September 2013, John spent a number of years as an Associate Director at the RICS where he was responsible for several Professional Groups including commercial property, facilities management, management consultancy and art & antiques. Whilst there, he produced the commercial agency real estate standards (The Purple Book), as well as pub valuation and conflicts of interest guidance for surveyors acting as arbitrators and independent experts. An encyclopaedic knowledge of the property market, coupled with a staggering memory for specific areas and even roads within London that could rival the most experienced Black Cab driver’s, makes John a true asset to Arnold & Baldwin.

At the weekend, John returns to his Suffolk home where he lives with his wife and enjoys sailing, playing tennis and the odd game of golf.

Richard Sumner Richard Sumner Profile picture

Richard Sumner


As well as being a member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and an RICS Registered Valuer, Richard heads up the Leasehold and Freehold Enfranchisement team. He has exceptional knowledge of Leasehold Reform as well as the residential property market, ensuring he is constantly up to date with all the latest industry developments. Having initiated his career with DTZ Residential as a sales negotiator, he rapidly gained experience and knowledge in sales, valuations and residential development appraisals. Always looking to develop and progress he went on to successfully obtain a Masters degree in International Real Estate from Oxford Brookes. Having gained further experience in both commercial and residential surveying with The Property Search Group, Richard joined Arnold & Baldwin in 2011. Richard is also head of training and development at Arnold & Baldwin and has mentored five individuals to successfully obtain membership of the RICS.

Outside of work, Richard is a keen sportsman and enjoys hockey, cricket, golf, tennis, skiing and country sports, amongst others. In the summer he can be found holidaying in one of his favorite places; Salcombe.

Alistair White Alistair White Profile picture

Alistair White


Alistair joined Arnold & Baldwin in 2012 having decided to further his career by joining a progressive surveying firm with an emphasis on providing an approachable expert service. Alistair graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2007 with a degree in Real Estate Management and subsequently attained full MRICS and registered valuer status in May 2013. Prior to joining Arnold & Baldwin, Alistair secured a substantial breadth of experience working within the valuation and LPA Receivership sectors in Central London and brings a peerless attention to detail to every piece of residential and commercial work that he undertakes. Alistair also heads up the audit and quality control functions at Arnold & Baldwin, ensuring that the highest standards are adhered to.

Originally from Buckinghamshire, Alistair has now called south London home for several years and enjoys getting out to explore the city. In his spare time Alistair is a keen sportsman and enjoys making the most of the parks and open spaces London has to offer.

Michael Charlton

Michael Charlton


Michael has enjoyed an extensive surveying career to date having become chartered in 1982 whilst training at the Valuation Office in Kingston upon Thames. Since this time, Michael has amassed significant experience working for various national and local general practice and valuation firms, as well as local and central government organisations and other independent property companies. Eager to join a modern, forward looking company with a great client base, Michael joined Arnold & Baldwin in March 2016. Renowned for his acute knack for imparting an extensive knowledge of building pathology and the less usual construction types amongst his fellow colleagues, Michael is a valued and pivotal member of the team.

Originally from Doncaster, Michael attended college in Birmingham and has lived in North Surrey for the last 30 years where he is married with two grown up children. Michael has a passion for building and when not working on improving his own home, he loves to travel as much as possible throughout Europe.

Rod Butcher Rod Butcher Profile picture

Rod Butcher


With a considerable and varied background in construction, Rod’s unique perspective provides him with an unsurpassed insight into all aspects of building pathology and defects. Having decided on a change of direction a number of years ago, Rod completed the Diploma in Surveying Practise with the College of Estate Management allowing him to become a technical member of the RICS. His specialities are the more involved Building and HomeBuyer Reports where exceptional expertise and an acute eye for detail really comes into its own and he is inevitably the first port-of-call for all second-opinions needed by surveyors for those less common defects discovered out and about. Dedicated to producing the finest in-depth reports, Rod goes above and beyond with each case he is given in order to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Rod lives in South Croydon with his wife and has four adult children. He works far too hard to maintain any regular hobbies, but still manages to find the time to support his beloved Chelsea.

Daniel Grove Daniel Grove Profile picture

Daniel Grove


Daniel is a key part of our residential lease specialist team, bringing his passion for customer care and unparalleled organisational skills to bare in everything he does. Having undertaken studies in Construction Management at Brighton University, Daniel went on to forge a significant career as a residential agent, rising to the position of sales director for a local estate agency in Caterham. During this time, Daniel developed a fantastic working relationship with Arnold and Baldwin and he subsequently took the opportunity to further his career as a surveyor joining the team early in 2015. In May 2016, Daniel attained AssocRICS and registered valuer status.

Having grown up in Sutton, Daniel now lives in Whyteleafe with his wife and baby boy who was welcomed into the world in December 2016. In his spare time, he loves to travel, enjoys watching films, and playing sport including football, tennis, badminton and squash.

Kirsten Kalmar

Kirsten Kalmar


Hailing from an impressive property dynasty, Kirsten has had a life time of exposure to the industry. Her broad range of experience has provided her with an unmatched insight into every aspect of the design, build, sale and consultation of residential property. Having started out in estate agency, Kirsten went on to study Architectural Design, and worked as an architectural designer for a number of years. To advance her career, Kirsten undertook and attained a first class degree in Building Surveying at Kingston University following which she worked as an inspector at the NHBC. In June 2016 Kirsten joined Arnold & Baldwin and made an immediate impact bringing her expertise to the forefront to achieve AssocRICS and registered valuer status in November 2016.

Although based in Richmond, Kirsten can often be found tending to her garden at her house in Provence. Her passion is renovating properties and, when time permits, she also enjoys going to see live music, cycling and swimming.

Steven Goovaerts

Graduate Surveyor

Steven is a Graduate Surveyor and versatile member of the team, currently undertaking an MSc in Real Estate Management at the University of the West of England and enrolled on the Assessment of Professional Competence. Prior to joining Arnold & Baldwin in 2015, Steven worked in recruitment, specialising in placements for general practice surveyors and subsequently as a residential agent, inspiring him to obtain professional status in the property industry and pursue a path to become a Chartered Surveyor. Having collaborated with Arnold & Baldwin through previous employment, Steven was impressed by the professional integrity and calibre of the staff. Since joining, Steven has demonstrated his ability to acquire knowledge quickly and turn his hand to all aspects of the company’s service offering. He has taken on responsibility for industry research and compiling Arnold & Baldwin’s monthly market report while providing invaluable support to his fellow team members.

In his spare time, when not studying, Steven keeps himself busy through his healthy passions for hiking the North Downs near his hometown of Caterham and skiing.

Tiffany joined Arnold & Baldwin in 2012 and soon established herself as the queen of bookings, using her impressive logistical capabilities and can do attitude to proactively and seamlessly find solutions to any client or in house issues that may arise. In her unofficial position as Arnold & Baldwin’s very own ray of sunshine, Tiffany has a smile for everyone she encounters and thrives as the company’s social organiser, ensuring that no birthday, event or festive season goes without a bang. Originally from South Africa, Tiffany’s CV boasts a varied employment background and is testament to the fact that she relishes a challenge and is always first to volunteer for learning a new skill. A dab-hand with a spreadsheet, Tiffany is particularly adept at presenting any volume of complex data in an easily accessible and understandable way.

As a very active member of her church, Tiffany spends a lot of her free time helping with youth groups, crafting and generally being creative. An avid watcher of most sports and a fan of theatre, she’ll often be found with a racket of some sort in her hand or settled in to a West End show, when other commitments allow.

Having joined Arnold & Baldwin in July 2014, Tom has not only established himself as a valuable member of the team, but also as the go-to guru for all things technological. Born and raised in Croydon, he brings local knowledge alongside an exceptionally analytical mind to provide excellent customer service and is able to turn his hand to any computer-based task with ease and efficiency. Having received a degree in Environmental Geography from the University of York, Tom has a proclivity for interpreting and producing maps and site plans which provide invaluable insight to clients and colleagues alike. Tom also undertakes quality checks on reports prior to release and, always happy to help, delivers a friendly and understanding approach to every phone call he receives.

A keen runner, Tom regularly covers impressive distances in his spare time and also enjoys watching the odd game of cricket (as long as England aren’t losing too horribly!).

Andrea Grace

Andrea Grace

Client Co-ordinator

Originally from Auckland, Andrea has lived and worked in the UK since 1994 when she was first employed as a nanny in Cheshire before heading for the bright lights of London where she spent several years as a PA at a Private Bank in the City. Taking the opportunity to leave the commute behind her and be closer to her baby boy at home in Caterham, Andrea joined Arnold & Baldwin in May 2017. A dab hand with a map, Andrea keeps our surveyors on time and on track planning efficient routes through London’s cobbled streets and Surrey and Kent’s winding roads, as well as compiling pre-inspection research and assisting with a range of client queries.

A fan of all things angling, Andrea spent a great deal of time in her youth boat fishing, surf casting, and spearing flounder under moonlight in the shallows near her home village of Titirangi which means The Fringe of Heaven in New Zealand's native Māori.

When not perfecting her cast, Andrea enjoys cooking, discovering new and exciting eateries and spending time with friends.

Beverley Warren

Beverley Warren

Financial Controller

Having joined Arnold & Baldwin in April 2016 as Financial Controller, Beverley has firmly established herself as an integral and highly valued member of the team, bringing a personable touch and limitless cheeriness alongside an acute eye for detail and vast accounting background. With an enviable career to date and extensive experience spanning over 30 years, Beverley started out at TSB bank and subsequently worked in the accounting function for Seeboard Plc and Croham Hurst Golf club. Seeking a new challenge in which to develop her skill-base further, Beverley sought Arnold & Baldwin for the opportunity to join a close-knit team with a friendly working atmosphere.

From her home in Purley, where she lives with her husband and son, Beverley is a keen crafter and can often be found making jewellery and scrap books and also loves skiing and Grand Prix racing.
